Johnny Big Stone & Sweet Marta are considered one of the few acoustic duos in Spain playing "Old Blues" and representing the sound essence of the time. They formed a duo acoustic blues roots and traditional American music, moving us beginning of the century XIX and performing songs of black slaves plantation that these spoke about personal and social problems. Sounding the locomotive with rhythms and melodies of diferent styles within the genre as Delta blues, Piedmont blues and Old-time country. In their repertoire performing artists as Jazz Guillum, Reverend Gary Davis, Blind Lemon Jefferson, Blind Blake and others. Also including in his reperotire songs of his own composition.
Sweet Marta & Johnny BigStone embarked on a long journey through the cultivated land of blues, USA. They traveled from north to south, passing on Route 61 (the blues route), and knowing more deeply the roots of what they feel and thus touch.
This experience gave them the opportunity to see, meet and play with great American blues musicians, such as Paul Oscher, Greg Izor, Mike Keller, John Primer, Steve Guyger and the legendary James Duck Holmes, among others.
A duo of blues and two musicians with experience and tour of clubs and festivals of Spain and Europe, among others, Potatoes Blues Festival, Cahors Blues Festival, Caslano Blues Festival, Festival de Blues de Barcelona, 11th Volcanic Blues Fest, Dark Season Blues or the legendary Blues Heaven Festival.
Already with three albums on the market, currently presenting in 2026 their third album called "Love Gone" with the incorporation of homegrown songs, Johnny BigStone & Sweet Marta continue to pleasantly surprise their followers and anyone who hears them for the first time.
Johnny BigStone & Sweet Marta son considerados uno de los pocos dúos acústicos en España que interpretan "Old Blues" y representan la esencia sonora de la época. Forman un dúo que combinaba las raíces del blues acústico con la música tradicional estadounidense, evocando principios del siglo XIX e interpretando canciones de las plantaciones de esclavos negros que abordaban problemas personales y sociales de la epoca. Inspirados por ritmos y melodías de diferentes estilos dentro del género, como el Delta blues, el Piedmont blues y el Old-Time Country, su repertorio incluye artistas como Jazz Guillum, Reverend Gary Davis, Blind Lemon Jefferson, Blind Blake y otros. También incluyen canciones de su propia composición.
Sweet Marta & Johnny BigStone emprendieron un largo viaje por Estados Unidos, la tierra del blues. Viajaron de norte a sur, recorriendo la Ruta 61 (la ruta del blues), y conociendo más profundamente las raíces de lo que sienten y, por lo tanto, lo que tocan. Esta experiencia les brindó la oportunidad de ver, conocer y tocar con grandes músicos de blues estadounidenses, como Paul Oscher, Greg Izor, Mike Keller, John Primer, Steve Guyger y el legendario James Duck Holmes, entre otros.
